Jobsite Speakers
Jobsite Bluetooth Speakers for Durable Wireless Audio
A jobsite Bluetooth speaker needs to last longer than a living room speaker, because it has to withstand dust, drops, drywall grit, perhaps a hose or even a sudden rain shower. That's why we stock work speakers with IP-rated housings, rubber overmolds, and steel roll cages that can withstand a fall from a ladder or scaffold. Our collection includes models from Milwaukee, Makita or DeWalt; each of them has been designed to survive real job sites.
Bluetooth range matters more on a work site. Signals weaken through concrete walls, steel framing, and stacked materials, so expect 100 feet or more when moving from room to room or floor to floor. Some models in this group offer 8 to 20 hours of run time on a full charge, and if you're also using the built-in USB cable to charge a cell phone, battery life may be even shorter.
Main Types and Features of Work Speakers
The most significant benefit of a jobsite speaker is the battery compatibility. No need to buy battery packs, a charger or AA batteries: all three use batteries compatible with the packs already in your drill or impact driver. Some models, such as the Milwaukee 2950-20, double as a charger for all of your other tools while you are playing music.
Volume output ranges from personal-use levels all the way up to speakers powerful enough to overpower saws and compressors operating near the work site. On some models, you can connect two speakers in stereo, which is useful on larger sites where a single speaker may not cover the entire area. Weights range from 3 to 12 lbs. The lighter end of that spectrum will do wonders to save your back by the end of the week if you're climbing up and down a ladder every day.
How to Select the Appropriate Jobsite Speaker
Match the radio or speaker with your existing battery platform. The M18 speaker family uses the same packs as Milwaukee M18 tools in your bag. In addition to battery match, consider the loudness of your average job site and whether you will require PACKOUT or ToughSystem compatibility to ensure it stays in place on your truck.
